All participants received a Grand Prix Certificate. Congratulations to all club members who to part in events in 2021/22.

January 2023

On a very damp Sunday, the Coasters were out for the Plymouth Round Table January Jaunt. This was the first competitive outing this year for seven of us, with Mike Cork winning his age category with a 10k at 48:00m.

Also in January, 11 Coasters took part in the weekly parkrun at Central Park. Each member gained five Grand Prix points per run. Mike Cork notched up his 50th parkrun with a time of 23:46m, 70.55% age graded.

February 2023

Our Coasters have gained good mileage this frosty February! We have Coasters ready to get up at the crack of dawn, vying to add to their miles per month target, some enjoying a gentle jog with friends whilst others start the gradual regime of building endurance to chase the marathon dream.

The Plymouth Coasters took on 24 parkruns, chipping away at those hard won PBs. Our double-points feature race, the Looe ten-miler, launched this month and there was one who dared and was awarded double Grand Prix points - well done James!

MARCH 2023

Mad March is done and dusted, the clocks are back where they should be, and spring is around the corner! And, we're back to those nice, light evenings that are ideal for training. The club Grand Prix is thriving, with 12 Coasters clocking up 311 points this month. The double points event this month, the Tavy 13, was the first competitive half-marathon of our season for Helen, Katie, and Ian.

The April Bonus point event will be a parkrun, meaning one of your April parkruns will give you double points!

APRIL 2023

The club April Grand Prix “parkrun” double pointers were claimed by ten members.  Our RUNGO competitions made a return with a special Easter edition, Katie & Helen managed to find a dry sunny day and claimed the Rungo honours.  After months of training, Helen took on her first London Marathon crossing the line in a creditable 4:10 raising over £2000 for charity.

MAY 2023

Magnificent May brought us all some brilliant weather and some amazingtperformances from our club members.  The May Grand Prix double points were awarded for participants in the Ivybridge 10k. Coasters took part in the Plymouth Running Festival, James in the Half Marathon and Sarah H in the 10K, supported by two volunteers, Shannon and Helen.

Mike, Shannon & Sarah D took on the Muskie Madness.  Shannon & Sarah D went out on evening and blasted the Armada 5k.  We also had 9 Saturday Parkrunners/volunteers.

JUNE 2023

At the start of June, the Plym Valley parkrun was the place to be, with Cathy making a PB with 24:43m. Nic took on the scenic Burrator 10k whilst Sarah and Mike took the Club Grand Prix bonus points at the Buckland Bounder. At the end of the month, we revealed the return of the Central Parkrun on a new 2 lap course with the memorable “stinger” hill.

JULY 2023

What a month of running; the organised events came thick and fast! The Plymstock Road runners hosted the Muddy Duck 10k, a challenging multi-terrain run which Shannon and Sarah ran, and the very next morning the Tamar Trotters hosted the Magnificent 7. Mike and Ian took part in the race, while Nicola marshalled.

The Magnificent 7 was our Club Grand Prix double points race for July, so the effort on the seven hills were worth the points! The rain came down hard on Mike, Sarah, Shannon, and Ian for the Cornwood 10k. Ian tried out his first (and last) trail run, the Postbridge Pootle, a 10k in very very wet, windy, and foggy weather conditions.
